Keeping Track - May 2009

Well, you've already seen most of my May acquisitions, but there's a couple more I have to come clean about.
This is the new Morris & Sons 4ply/fingering yarn, Empire - bought in their sale (which is, by the way, still on!) and for a particular project. Not normally a colour I'd choose, but hopefully it will work beautifully for the project I have in mind (does that sound intriguing enough?!)
And this one, which was a gift from Bells - so I could experience the Canberra Celebration of Wool (or silk, in my case) vicariously! Yum!
So, here's the stats:
In: 36 x 50g balls
Out: 11 x 50g balls (not too bad, I must say!)
YTD: 67.5 x 50g balls
I know June won't be good for the "In" figures - the craft fair and all - but hopefully it'll be good on the "Out" as well ... as you might have noticed, I'm getting a lot finished at the moment, and am feeling very virtuous about this clearing of the wips!
Although I do have a new personal sock club project to start!
This is going to be Mona Schmidt's Embossed Leaves Socks - my favourite sock pattern - I loved my first pair so much, I'm making them again! In the same yarn and all!

oh that greeny-yellow is intriguing indeed. What WILL you make with it?

That yarn, those socks = perfect match. Most perfect match ever. I do agree it is the best sock pattern ever, apart from the stupid cast on that I will never do again.

I really like the green sock yarn and think it is perfect for the Embossed Leaves. Your knitting output is most impressive, as is the fact that your 'on the sticks' projects list indicates your Ruby Tuesday is 61% complete. I want to know how you measure 61% of a garment's completion...?

And koigu! Looking forward to seeing the leafy socks. And am hoping to sneak off on Friday from conference to check out Morris & Sons myself - I've never been!

Embossed leaves have been on my list for awhile; I have to try them. Can't wait to see what you're making out of that yellow! It looks very squishy and soft!

I do love the yellowy green you have there. And the sock yarn is YUM!

the embossed leaves will look lovely in that particular shade of green.

I too am favouring that particular acid green/yellow at the moment - despite it not being a colour I usually go for? must be something in the air?!

I love embossed leaves and that color will be perfect. It is similar to one called Leaves of Whimsy from the Knit a Day calendar last year. I haven't finished May's socks yet.....

I'm loving the personal sock club, since I am knitting nice and slowly and not feeling pressured. The yellow/green is intriguing, it'll be interesting ti see what you make of it. And I'm soooo looking forward to June. I love vicarious stash enhancement!

I love that color for Embossed Leaves. I'm glad to hear it's a great pattern as I've decided it's going to be one of my traveling projects this summer.

Ooh Koigu and Embossed Leaves that sounds like a lovely combo - and with all that beautiful yarn you have you must just sit and knit for all of June (except when you're buying new yarn) - okay with you?
