Keeping Track - July 2009

I've been putting off this post as I'm hesitant to admit to myself even how much yarn I bought this month ... but I put myself up to keeping track every month, so here we go.

In addition to that I've already flashed from Bendi, there was a bit of this as well:
So for this month:

In: 58 x 50g balls
Out: 21 x 50g balls (thanks to a big knitting month and me being able to help out a couple of ISO-ers on the Australian Knitters board on Rav!)

YTD: 138.5 x 50g balls. Enough to keep me knitting for a whole 'nother year. And that's only 7 months' worth.

Oh well, at least I've knit up some of my Bendi yarn already! Just a little thing, but I felt the need to knit with this yummeh camelbunny from Ixchel last week, so I did!
Details
Yarn: Handspun camelbunny from Ixchel, two small skeins totalling about 50gm together. I got the wooden button from Tink's local fabric shop in Tassie. Nice!

Pattern: Stash, by Donyale Grant (weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!). I made mine narrower given I had a scant amount of yarn, and I striped the two yarns, reversing the order as I got closer to the end to ensure I made the most of the yarn.
Sticks: 5.5mm KnitPicks Harmony Options - tee hee, the sticks matched the yarn really nicely!
Time: A lovely quick knit, as you'd expect - 21-22 July 2009.

Oh but so pretty...

You could look at the stash as a public service. We get to admire it!

I'm laughing at the images M1K1's comment brings to mind....!!

That's such a pretty little stash buster - perfect use for the camelbunny! hehe Wish we could see the button better though! I can't quite make it out.

And the Wollmeise. Sigh. The colour saturation is such a gift she has.

The Wollmeise is divine, the colours, the intensity, oh my I must stop drooling. Lucky lady having your hands on that!

perfect use of the ixchel!

and you, MsRose, are a wool junkie!!! you bought MORE wool?

{yes, I thought so. drawing attention to your addiction deflects attention away from mine!}

{oh crap, now I've brought it back onto me}

just keep walking....nothing to see here...

I am very jealous of that Wollmeise, but as I have a new (equally expensive) hobby now, Roller Derby, I am *trying* to refrain from more wool. I will satisfy myself by drooling on yours ;)

I'm focusing on the 21 x 50g balls out - I think that's extremely impressive.

I am wiping the drool off my keyboard and screen

Loving your use of Stash for your Stash....just think how many of those neckwarmers you could knit with all YOUR stash.....sigh.

NO WAY! I haven't ever had the luck of purchasing some wollmeise - those colours are something to behold

Ooh, very pretty, the colours and the biscuit colour works really well, it looks great.

Oh, that is so cute! And I just love the picture of the Wollmeise up top - so pretty. And wasn't it the Yarn Harlot who said you wouldn't complain if a painter surrounded herself with paints, right? We need yarn around us, too, for inspiration!

Or something.

Camelbunny. It must have been a weary female camel and an ambitious boy bunny . . . Gorgeous scarflet and so clever of you!

A writer needs a vocabulary. A quilter needs fabrics. A knitter needs to be prepared when inspiration strikes. No shame in owning good yarn.

Oh my. The verification word is crack. How seriously AM I addicted?

Thanks for sharing your yarn acquisitions! I've been accumulating yarn on my various travels this summer. It doesn't really count as stash when it's a souvenir, right?

Sarah said...

So I guess the stash acquisition is by Bad Rose Red and the pretty knit by Good Rose Red :o)

Love the Bruegel argument they had, so similar to my internal knitters battling it out. I am sorry for you having to frog back on it but it promises to be so stunning it will be worth it, and amazing to do all that during the tour.

yes i agree really great job on the 21 balls out, you are being so productive and making so many fabulous things so lets not worry about any of the other numbers. and like you said, wollmeise is an investment. the stash looks fantastic, what a geat combination of colours!

Stash looks great & I like the colors. I have to go on a yarn diet soon as I have to save some money for yarn shopping in Melbourne in December.

The red and purple Bendi yarns - are they really that jewel like in real life? Absolutely gorgeous.

That camelbunny is so, so soft.

Thanks for your company and delicious repast on Saturday night.

I haven't yet counted up all the July yarn (in fact, I may possibly be blocking it out......)

Well done on the reduction front though - we all like to reduce - well, not like exactly....

Those colors from Wollmeise are unbelieveable. Like jewels. They're too beautiful to count as acquisition.

I bet your Stash "neckwrap" is super soft and warm! I've got a camel lace shawl from Uzbekistan (a friend used to live there), and it is the softest and warmest thing imaginable!

The Wollmeise looks so beautiful, what stunning colours! Of course you had to add it to your collection!
