Keeping Track - April 2010

Obviously last month (with NO incoming stash) was such a shock to the system that I had to make up for it this month. With this:
and this:
(although the latter, Fleece Artist Somoko, was the last shipment of a year long sock club, thanks to Knitting Inspirations!).

The Cascade220 is for a zipper cardi for husby - I have been promising him one for a while - and since the Webs sale is on (and still is - until the end of May!), I went for it. Except of course, now that he knows I've got the yarn, he wants the cardi immediately!
So I've even swatched. And am about to cast on the first piece. Lucky husby! (although I make no promises about when it will be finished!)

In: 18 x 50g balls
Out: 7.5 x 50g balls
YTD: +22 x 50g balls - giving a monthly average of 5.5 x 50g balls. So still not toooo bad!

yum yum yum. Some great and worthy stash enhancement here. How will you go with the zipper? I've avoided all zipper cardigans out of sheer nerves.

I love a good zipper, and since there was one to exactly match my new cardi, I chose that over buttons!!! Nice acquisitions!!

That one skein looks a tad pinkish. Will that go into the cardi as well? I think it will rock, but my spouse will not wear anything in any shade of pink or purple. Lucky husby! And this will help him feel less jealous of all the attention lavished on Teddy.

Unless you have one of those mythical babies I hear about (the ones who sleep by themselves for hours at a time), plan on finishing it before he arrives--or welllll after. Took me something like six months to knit a sweater after Grace was born....!

Yeah, you're gonna be a little too busy soon to be able to make knitting promises. Still, you never know, right, and you might as well try. And it's not like it's a crazy lace or cabled thing. You can do it. Hey, how much is shipping from Webs? Is it totally nuts?

Lovely yarn!

I did some naughty partaking of the WEBS sale too. Some nice Elsebeth Lavold, a zauberball, some ultra alpaca. Yum yum yum! Can't wait for it to arrive.

You are brave to start a cardigan at this moment. But why not? It's not like it's going to get any easier!

You are so brave to be honest about stash and to do the math (something I avoid as much as possible!).

I took advantage of the Webs sale to get the yarn for an alpaca/silk shawl. I really don't need any more yarn right now but they keep enticing me with sale mails!

oh how i love me a webs sale! i hope to get my grubby little hands on my own purchases this week too, but that c220 was very well chosen and will suit him very nicely. i think you are probably wise to start something thats for someone else, because you might be more motivated, and hopefully its just lots of stocking stitch right?! i think you can do it!

I love the Fleece Artist, what colour way is it? Does husby know you are not going to have a lot of knitting time over the next couple of months???
ps It was 9 degrees here yesterday and 11 today, so much for Spring!

Oh, I do love that color for the cardigan. You'll finish when you finish!
