Welcome to the world, baby boy!

Introducing Connor James (sorry about the crappy webcam photo!), born 11.15pm Saturday 8 May 2010. Weighing in at 8lb6oz (yes, despite Australia using the most excellent metric system (tee hee), most people still refer to babies in pounds and ounces - but for those who don't, 3.81kg) and measuring 51.5cm, Connor arrived via c-section, because despite the contractions, he stubbornly refused to engage - living up to one of the "meanings" of his name - strong-willed! Wonder where he gets that from...

That's fantastic! Boys are wonderful and SO much fun to knit for! They look gorgeous in almost anything, and he's already chubby and so cute... imagine him in his woolies. What a great time of year to have an Aussie Baby! Great name for a boy, too.

Similar thing happened with my last baby boy (now 3 months) and so I know caesareans aren't much fun to recover from. Much better after the first week, though. Put your feet up and relax in hospital for a bit. I don't care what they say about hospital food; it's always better when you don't have to cook and do the dishes :D

P.S. My first boy (now almost 3) was due a few days before Mothers Day and Missed it by about 4 days! Frustrating!

Glad yours made it in time; it's very nice to be a mum on Mother's day. And next time, I think Mother's day will be on his first birthday :D Congratulations again!

Happy Mother's Day! As for the "strong willed," well, it just gets worse. But so far, it's been survivable. :)

Congratulations :)

Enjoy the early baby daze - it's such a special, intense time. Don't try to do anything except nurture yourself and your baby for a few weeks at least. (I'm sure you know all that, but sometimes it helps to have it reiterated ;)

Take care and sniff that newborn head for me.

Awww! Congratulations, new momma! The verification word is even "mumon".

And here is my one and only piece of parenting advice: Don't let people take photos of you while you look at your baby and say, "Awwww!" Later you will look at the picture and think, "I look like I'm drooling on his head!"
