Spring has sprung!

The grass has riz, etc...

All week the weatherperson has told us today would be 25C (77F). The first day of Spring, 25C!

I was so excited, expecting to wake up this morning and see a lovely sunshiney day, and maybe only wear a t-shirt, for the first time since early May. But no, it's overcast. Not cold, but not the expected lovely sunny spring day (although as I'm writing this, the sun is poking through the cloud cover, so there is still hope!).

But we can look at some flowers at least...
First blooms on my little magnolia tree.
Violets spreading through my side garden bed (where I had originally planned, when we moved in, to have a vege patch...heh! I can't dig up the lovely violets, now can I?!)
White violets! Who'da thunk it! I did not even know there was such a thing until I spotted this one in my garden.
I also noticed yesterday that the leaves on my jacaranda are turning yellow - they'll be close to falling off, ready for it to burst into bloom later this spring. And so the cycle continues.

I love the grey, rainy first day of Spring we had! But it's greening - the peach tree is blossoming!

We had a lovely sunny day here, but I don't think our Autumn starts till the equinox. Here's hoping it's t-shirt weather amongst the flowers for you tomorrow!!!

Hmm, so that's where all the flowers is...

I forgot it was Spring for most of the day, since it isn't acting like it here. Glad to see there are flowers and a bit of blue sky about somewhere, though! :)

Hooray for spring and for pretty flower pics! I am equally excited here, about the arrival of fall. (And not just because the little ones go back to school... though that's a big part of it, I can't lie!)

we have white violets - I do love them but I find them invasive and have been known to rip up huge slabs of them just to make space for other things!

Every year I wish I had a magnolia tree.,

I love these cycles and I really love the transitional days and weeks anticipating the new season - autumn is all but here with us

Better than our first day of Spring. We went to the snow and it rained all day. The kids didn't care but I found wandering around under an umbrella not so much fun.

I love the violets and their perfume. Do keep them. They remind me of my grand-mother who I remember wearing a bunch of them on the lapel of her coat or jacket.

Violets are one of my favorite spring flowers. I'd leave them there, too.

You can have some of our sun if you'd like. It's beating down ferociously and relentlessly.

Happy Spring! Ha, a tee shirt. I'm always ecstatic if there's no snow left by the first day of spring (which is the actual equinox here, so even later!).

Meanwhile, my kids are starting school in the middle of a heat wave, defined as 5+ days of temps over 90 (32F). Kind of disgusting for the first week of September!
