StashDownUnder - July 2011

Quick post - because this month, I bought no yarn!  I think my blowout last month really did have an impact on my stash acquisition methods, heh!  I went to a lovely yarn store (Sew and Tell, at Berry) on Sunday and I Did Not Buy Any Yarn!  I didn't even buy any knitting books, which is my usual fix in a yarn store if I don't buy yarn.

And I had a really good knitting month.  Yay for the Tour de France KAL!  I learnt this month just how much knitting you can get done when you actually knit in all your spare time, and not faff about on the internet!  Amazing!

This month:
Actual balls used:  10 x 50g balls
8ply equivalent:  11 x 50g balls
Total metres used:  1,106m

Year to date:
Actual balls used:  -19.75 balls
8ply equivalent:  60.5 balls
metres used:  6793m

And since a blog post with no photos is too boring, I'll leave you with a flash of the two yarns I'm very excited to be using in a project which will be started shortly.
Can you guess what pattern this yarn will become?

yes some focus is excellent isn't it?! I'm so glad we both did it and did so well!

I'm sure you told me what your wollmeise was going to become and be damned if I can remember.

Wouldn't have a clue what that yarn will become but I love it .. absolutely fabulous colours.

I'm seeing some kind of striped shawl in that wollmeise. Yum! It's so much easier to stay away from the intawebs and knit when there is something excellent on tv like the tdf to knit along with. We need a tennis tourney, or an olympic games or something...

It would look awesome as a Tempest cardigan but you'd probably need a little more than that...

I think your red and orange wool is in search of either yellow- when it can be the three pack of capsicum at the supermarket, or green, whereupon you can knit traffic lights!!
I can't believe you didn't buy nay wool. I think you need a Bex and a good lie down!!!

I cannot imagine - they are quite bright, aren't they?

Yes, the internet can certainly swallow time: I seem to have lost most of today!

Such restraint!

Love those colours together - looking forward to seeing it in action!

Will it have legs? Will it be bigger than a breadbox?

You have been so virtuous in July. What does August hold in store?

Is it a stripe study? Have I been told?

I can never guess. Volt? Stripe study? I don't remember if I've ever seen you in a triangular shawl.

My internet time is being stymied by my rapidly deteriorating eyesight. I can hardly read the screen any more. Time for glasses I think, but putting it off.

My word verification is convo. I like that.

You have done well! I don't visit yarn shop but I buy yarn online & I got carried away in July. I am trying to be good this month. Gorgeous colors - maybe a striped shawl from Stephen West?

I like that word, faffing. Never heard it before! But yes, isn't it funny how much more knitting would get done if there was no internet? It probably wouldn't be as fun, though...

I like the colors but can't for the life of me figure out what you'll make. You are so creative and are always working on something amazing
