And another guest also foraging but far more modestly and shyly. This was about as close as we could get, but you know, it's not every day you see a mother wallaby and baby (see the little shiny eyes in the pouch region!) in the "wilds" of suburban Sydney.
Quiet day at home on Sunday - I've had a craving for chocolate self-saucing pudding for about a month now, and despite my constant requests, husby just wouldn't make it for me. So I bit the bullet and made it myself. The perfect comfort food for a rainy Sunday. And, for a change, not Nigella!
Husby did run up to the corner store in the rain for the ice-cream though. Low-fat. See, he's always thinking of my well-being!!

Yum yum, gotta love the choc pud - my trick is to mix it and cook it in a pyrex casserole dish (no washing u till its all gaone! (I also double the amount of sauce ingredients and boiling water - cos there's never enough sauce!!) This one looks great!
great post RR! How cool to see those little eyes poking out.
LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate pudding. I'm so glad you finally got it, even if you did have to make it yourself!
I make my choccie pud exactly the same as TB - pyrex dish, double sauce!! Looks very yummy and warming.
Great wallaby sighting, and sweet little joey too! It is indeed special to see one so close to suburbia.
I made a SS pudding yesterday too!! Without the icecream though...
That little mama + baby duo is just gorgeous.
mmmmmmm my favourite! Very Jealous.
Do you home deliver? ;)
Oh yum - my son makes a fantastic chocolate pudding - very comforting and naughty winter dessert. Yours looks damn good!!
Lovely to see the wallaby and her bub :)
Yes, definitely twice the sauce, ditto for Golden Syrup Dumplings!! Lovely wallaby and joey!! We have them in our neck of suburbia: hopping down the road as bold as brass!! There is a giant amount of bush just 5 minutes away but still, they are quite brave.
True Love: running to the shop in the rain for Low Fat cream!!!!!
Lovely! That pudding looks so nice. Those Kukkaburras, I had chicken stolen off my plate once!
Low-fat ice cream? After all the yummy chocolate?? I would've just gone all out & had full fat everything, I think, LOL.
Cool walllaby shot! And more dessert! You guys are making me hungry. On the handy other hand, I suppose it's cheaper than what you normally do, which is make me go knit something - I was so obsessed with your jaywalkers in the last post, I went out and bought special yarn (because the loads of sock yarn in my house were just not right enough) and am now half-way through one. Of course, now I want dessert, too...
Love the baby peeking out of mama's pouch!! So much more exciting than our raccoons!!!
Pudding looks incredibly delicious!
The chocolate pudding looks delicious. I did the same on Sunday as it was cold & wet - bake a lemon cake with lemon syrup - Yum!
Oh the wallaby and her baby are absolutely precious. Absolutely adorable! What a great picnic.
The chocolate pudding looks delicious. I have never had any thing quite like it. (Please pardon my ignorance - Is it an Australia speciality?) Any chance of borrowing your recipe? I am always keen on a new dessert treat!
Yum! That looks so good. I haven't eaten that for so long!!
I can vouch for the cheeky Kookaburras being one of their victims!
H was so influenced by your chocolate self-saucing pudding that he made one for us last night, very yummy. Thanks for the power of persuasion.
Yummy Yummy chocolate pudding, and ice-cream too!! I know what I'll be getting from the supermarket tomorrow :) :)
