Keeping Track - October 2008

I had high hopes that October would be a good month for the stash. Well, I guess it depends on whether it's "good" for the stash to grow, or to shrink! Yeah, it grew. Sigh. Most of the additions are for knits for others, that's the best excuse I have!

Not this pretty though.
(STR Mediumweight in Jubilation). Or these pretties:
I have at least started to use the Cleckheaton Bamboo though:
It's Kathy Merrick's Boteh Scarf from Interweave Crochet, Spring 2007.

So:
In: 37 x 50g balls
Out: 8 x 50g balls

YTD: 135.5 x 50g balls

As for my November goals, I'm going to focus on finishing the goals from October that weren't done, and maybe, just maybe, I'll do NaKniSweMo (National Knit a Sweater Month - yes, it's American - so in my case, it'll be a cardigan - I think...)

the scarf's looking really good!

There's National Knit a Sweater Month? When? How? Should we?

maybe it's because I'm partial to orange, but the scarf just looks so yuuuuummy!

The orange scarf looks really cool. I love the swoop of it. NaKniSweMo? Never heard of it. I guess I have to go look it up. Not that I'd have any hope of accomplishing it. I am a hopelessly slow knitter.

Omy my - I love both of those yarns! And the scarf is looking really intruiging. So if you start making something with the yarn as soon as you buy it, it's not really stash enhancement at all is it?

wow- that scarf looks great! I had been sooooo good about not acquiring more yarn/projects... until suddenly, I wasn't. It takes just one bad spree at the store to do a whole bunch of damage to the stash doesn't it? I think, in my case, I had a built up urge, and it all just exploded, at once, Even the LYS lady was like, "Whoa. I think I'm not gonna let you back in for awhile..."

love how that scarf is knitting up. i have some of that bamboo in the blue still trying to find a pattern for it.

STR is lovely sock yarn to knit!! and love that colourway for it.

i gotta go on a yarn diet (*coughs*). i think its gotten out of control..love your way of saying your ins and outs for yarn too.

I do like that pattern. It's coming up beautifully in the bamboo.

I so admire your stash honesty. I get palpitations if I even consider such a move.

I've stopped counting and am now just hoping that somehow the Christmas knitting might bring me back to only a moderate increase.

Love the scarf
