SHOESday: an oldie but a goodie
These may just be the oldest pair of shoes that I own and still wear. I can't even remember when I bought them, but I think it must have been around the time I was at uni, or just after...and that's at least, oh, a very long time ago indeed (last century even! OMG!!).And yeah, they look it too. (Although I suspect Converse traditionalists might just say "you've only just worn them in".)Perhaps it is time for a new pair. Because I can't be grown up and still wear Converse All-Stars, can I?

Hello, Rose Red!
Excellent post.
I lov this shose.
Thank you
And why not [be grown up and wear C A-S]?
What do you mean - grown up - the great thing about being grown-up is you can wear anything you darn well please!
LOVE them! I used to have yellow and red pairs, and maybe teal? And low ones, too. But they're too flat and they hurt my feet to no end--I have very bad feet, aggravated by running cross country followed by years of waitressing. Sob. They're so cute.
the nice thing about converse is they are always cool.
you are never too old to wear them- they'll give you some serious emo-kid street cred
This reminds me of a guy I used to work with. He had Converse All Stars in every color and matched them up with his polo shirts. Of course, he also sported a mullet, but we don't need to go there... Just goes to prove that depending upon who wears them, they can either be very cool (yours) or very dorky (his).
Those look well-worn!
And red - who would have guessed it?
I must've missed the Converse craze, but they do look very cool. I say wear them with pride!
You so can. You looked great in them today. I want some.
YEs yes yes a grown up absolutely can still wear chuck taylors of course they can!
Thanks for the shoe love. I got them from Kmart of all places. $20 and they come in lots of yummy colours.
I wouldn't even have imagined that you wore sneakers, lol! Good old Converse All Stars.
Now you're talk'n my kind of shoe although I don't have any but they are nice and old fashioned like me!!
Except for the flat sole, those are perfect shoes. Cool and functional at the same time. I loved mine until they had holes too big to ignore.
Classics and red to boot!
beautifully photoed! and i bet you look great in them. last time i saw my daughter i bought her a pair. in red. her favorite color too.
Hello, I linked to your post from Im not quite sure where, I went to Lindas and then clicked on someone else and then someone else and then found you - LOVE LOVE LOVE THE SHOES ON YOUR BLOG!!! I think your posts are fantastic - I totally understand the red thing - Im a PURPLE girl, my blog is completely purpled!!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK.
I just got a navy pair but the short ones, they are the best shoes ever!! Everyone in London wears them dahlink!!!
I remember these shoes from your uni days. From Converse to Prada and back again. What do you classify as grown up? I would wear them when I want the child at heart to come out and play.
but of course you can! i wear mine to class and put them up on the chair in front of me, like a very bad teacher, in the vain hope that it gives me some sort of cred. seriously tho, ive had mine for years and there is almost no wear on the sole, they are seriously impressive shoes and i would never be without a pair.
Of course you can. You ARE old school!
