And then this one time...

And then this one time, at knitting camp (groan...ok, I won't continue!!)

Just had the best weekend - knitting camp at Wollongong's fabulous Mt Keira Scout Camp with a bunch of fabulous women. I've been looking forward to this for so long!!

Made sure I packed enough projects:
From bottom right - Pearl Buck, yarn options for a new project, February Lady Sweater and McDreamy socks, which I'd hoped to get finished, but didn't quite! I guess it was really enough for at least a week I'd say, but you have to be prepared for all eventualities - I mean, something could have happened to force us to stay up there for a week, you never know! Also remembered to pack some wine, some chocolate and some timtams, as well as nice tea bags.

Apart from much knitting both inside and out:
there was dyeing (I didn't do any, but others did - check out Ailsa's red 'n' yellow striping sock yarn there);

and
in the outdoor chapel up the walking track from the lodge where we spent most of our time:
and Christmas in June dinner on Saturday night:with much hilarity (I guess you had to be there!) (oh, and the eggnog helps too!):And for me, my first fair isle:
I can't begin to tell you how much I loved myself this weekend knitting this!!

Best of all, uninterrupted knitting time with fabulous women, with someone else cooking for us. Oh, I wish I could go to knitting camp every weekend!

You know, as exciting as this weekend was here in The Can with The George and The Bump, I really would have liked to have been on knitting camp too.

So glad you had a great time!

Oh, I can't think of a more idyllic weekend! I was picturing tents, but that 'cabin' is so charming. I can only imagine how much fun you all must have had.

It looks great. What a wonderful idea for a getaway weekend. And mmm, what I'd give for someone cooking for me all weekend.

OH Where do I sign up for a knitting camp?

Love the fairisle well done.

And the camp was only up the road.

What a grand time! And beautiful place too. Your fair isle is lovely. You just may get hooked on it! Check out the Selbuvotter book on mittens. I finally had to have it.

I wish knitting camp was every weekend too! It was really a great opportunity to spend time with you guys getting to know you better. And your fair isle does completely rock. Hate her.

It was a fantastic weekend! I don't want to wait a year for another go around, either.

Goodness, I am covered in jealousy that there's no equivalent over here. May have to con Momolla and Kate into an Australian vacation, if this turns out to be an annual thing.

I want to go to knitting camp. I will try not to whine about it but I want to go. It sounds like so much fun, although Em's idea of an Australian vacation sounds good, too. Maybe we can have a knitting weekend and camp at the same time. I'd have to hire someone to cook and clean up but it could be fun.

Knitting camp sounds wonderful! How are you finding the endpaper mits? I've been tempted by them so often.
