SHOESday: from the back of the wardrobe

I showed a pair of shoes last week which I'd consigned to the back of the wardrobe because they were (ahem) too common! (I agree, Ailsa, a "personal failing" is a great way to describe that).

This week I've got a pair which were consigned because, well, they were too synthetic! I do love these, but I decided some time ago that synthetic calf length boots are not the most comfortable to wear. But I couldn't get rid of them.
How could I? Love the patent nature of the upper, which looks black but when you put it in the light it flashes red in the most pleasing way - which of course I couldn't quite capture in the photographs.
And the zip up the back and the well shaped foot and toe.
I really did love these shoes (which I bought on sale after seeing a work colleague wearing them, oh, at least 8 years ago!). I mainly wore them with a calf-length straight black skirt with a split at the back - so the colour of the boots would flash as I walked. I thought they were fantastic! But now they are destined for the charity shop - it's time, isn't it. Can't hang on to all my shoes forever!

Oh, but I can see the allure.
Now I am very old, so you maybe never have seen the like of my boots from my teens. Stretchy, clingy, shiny vinyl leg, and of course, foot.
Feet got a little ... hot, shall we say, but of course, I mean, smelly. Ah! The sixties. What glories!

What! No Darth Vader fancy dress on the horizon?

Rock chick style - love 'em!!

[Wear them over dark jeans as you listen to the latest Babyshamles CD... Yes, another obsession.]

Sweet - I like these synthetic or no (and yes, I'm not a big synthetic girl - but they are very pretty!

They are back in style again but I guess would still be hot. I'd keep them for when you want to go to a PETA rally and want to show off your solidarity.

I love the shininess! Too bad they have to go...

I do believe I see a flash of red in one of those photographs. They are totally wonderful, but yes would take up a lot of room to store wouldn't they?

Very cute. Are you sure they must go? Can't you give them a new life with a shorter skirt and flashy tights?

I LOVE THEM! Sorry, I have a slight, tiny, wee obsession with tall boots. My beloved pair died several months ago (i only threw them away when the heels loosened from the sole and became a safety hazard), but I have held off buying a new pair because I haven't seen any that speak to me. Or have high enough heels.

The boots are fantastic, it's a pity they have to go.I remember working with someone once who had similar and I was so tempted to get some for myself, never got around to it though, I couldn't find any at the time that I liked and that I could also afford (as is usually the case)!
