So how did I go on the August goals?

Last month I declared August was for finishing. I listed 5 WIPS, out of my list of 14, that I planned to focus on and try to finish at least one of them in August. I'm sure you are all dying to know how I went (heh!).

I guess I'll tell you anyway!

Ruby Tuesday
Absolutely no progress at all - oh dear!

Cherish
Now 80% done - I finished the first sleeve and am 1/3 of the way through the second. Then all that is left is the seaming.

Demin Pinafore
All the knitting is now done. Now all that's left is the seaming (anyone see a problem here with the whole "finishing" theme?!)

Kristie's Sock
Now 75% done - as I suspected, once I turned the heel it is going a whole lot quicker!

Lady Eleanor
done done DONE! But no photos yet - you'll have to wait...

Inga's crochet bag
Also done! Woo hoo! And here's some pictures even - they're night shots so a bit dark, sorry about that.

Details:
Pattern: Inga's crochet bag - free! Very easy pattern - although of course it does require you to sew 16 squares together and darn in those ends. Yep - more seaming! But it wasn't too bad!

Yarn: Anchor Magicline colour 1482, 5 x 50g balls plus 25g of Spotlight 8ply cotton in denim blue for the edging and handles

Hook: 3.5mm cheapo bamboo hook - got this through security and so was able to crochet on the way to and from Fiji - yay for bamboo hooks!

Time: 31 July 2008 - 2 September 2008 (yeah, I cheated a little and finished it this month!)
I'm not entirely sure I'm feeling the love for this yarn colour though. What do you think?

Maybe you should make this month "September is for Seaming"?

I like the bag - can't see the colour to clearly on my monitor, but I imagine it would be quite handy for taking your book and sunscreen down to the beach this summer.

What a lovely shaped bag. I am not sure on the colour either as my monitor is so wrong with colours!

Ah seaming - you know my troubles with that skill!

Busy month though and cannot wait to see Lady E - fast work there.

On my lace email list, someone used the phrase "The color wears the lace". I love that phrase! It often happens with the variegated and striping yarns, and even though I love to use them, I'm not always happy with the end result.

I am loving the idea of you smuggling your hook on the plane! Well worth the risk, it looks lovely.

i'm applauding your efforts here! that's still a lot of finishing you've done in one month.

Scoff. You didn't do so well did you? Ok, maybe that's unfair. Lady E was a big job and you did travel a lot and well, I like the bag. I am wondering what to do with all my magicline.

The bag is so pretty, and well done for at least finishing two of your projects!

If I set actual goals for myself, I'd never get anything done. Oh, the pressure. I am in awe of your crocheting ability!

Of course you are not fond of the colors. Where's the red? If you're like me I am trying to stray from my usual colors. It's hard. I love the bag!

God, I detest seaming! I'm perfectly content to knit an entire sweater and leave it sitting for months just because I hate seaming so much. Looks like we're in the same boat when it comes to finishing projects.

I like the yarn colors on the bag. They look funky and fun.

I am so with you on the finishing bit! But I think youve done really well, and hot the target of at least one thing done.

Love the bag design and shape, but frankly, not liking the colour so much myself. One for the gift box, perhaps?

I am in awe of your goal achievement!!! The bag is so very cute: I hate sewing up too, though once I start I realise it is the anticipation of sewing up I actually abhor!!!

Oh, I think it's a cute bag! And I know you inspired me to finish a few of my own projects and bust the stash a little more in August - in fact, I'm sticking to it.

You've been pretty productive this past month for a lady who's buying a house (i hear there's a lot of paperwork to go with that) and also working. You did a pretty nice job, finishing up the bag (like the pattern, but i'm not much on the colors, either) Lady Eleanor, and taking a chunk out of your other projects.

Oh well done (note to self - finish stuff) Like the bag - outside the comfort zone - all good! Looking forward to seeing Lady Eleanor in all her glory!

Well done you! I'm still wrestling the WIPs but without any real enthusiasm.

Love the bag but unfortunately I can't crochet. I think you did well in August!
