Since, you know, winter is almost over and all, it seemed to me to be a good time to try and finish Husby's Beau jumper. So he'll be able to spend the whole summer looking forward to the time when he can actually wear it next winter. For about two weeks next winter, probably.
I took advantage of the warm weather on Sunday to block the sleeves:
And am almost finished the front - just the tops to go, then collar and sewing up (doesn't blocking make a difference!).
Who knows, I just might get this finished by the end of this weekend!!

it's looking great! I bet he can't wait for next winter! ;-)
I never block pieces. I think I ought to.
Wow its looking good even without the good looking model who will be wearing it. How lucky is he to have such a talented and dedicated W.
Beau is such a great looking sweater. Will we get to see a modelled shot, like the one in the book, maybe with him wearing an Australian cowboy hat and a dingo at his side.....sorry, imagination of hunky aussie cowboys ran away with me!!
Looking very nice - my money's on you having in done in time for an early Spring cold snap!
That's one very snazzy jumper you've nearly got there - I'm sure hubby will LOVE it. Roll on a chilly winter (did I really just say that? 0_o )
It looks great; I love the wool and the color. I wish summer weren't almost over here. Sigh...
I love the geometric design of that sweater. I can't wait to see it finished!
You're so nice to knit the DH a jumper! I can only do socks...mine gets about 1 pair a year, lol.
Love the color you're using!
i was just thinking about this sweater the other day and wondering how it was coming along. don't you love it when it's close.
looks great.
Whoa! That is lookin' good! I can't wait to see it finished! What a beautiful color, too. (I LOVE brown!)
Great jumper - mine won't wear jumpers - on the coldest days it's a flannelette shirt! Every day even in the depths of winter, goes off to work in a shirt (nothing under it, nothing over it) so I knit for me and the children and friends and relatives! That looks so beautiful - I'd love to knit for him - but really, what's the point!
Blocking does make a difference & will make seaming so much easier. Love the color of the jumper. I have not knitted my hubby a jumper as I don't think he will want to wear a handknit.
Love the texture in that jumper.
Even in freezing Canberra, K doesn't tend to wear jumpers - long sleeve top plus jacket is about it. But he does seem to be gradually feeling the cold more, maybe one day.
It's a good thing Mr BDK doesn't wear jumpers, or I'd be feeling incredibly guilty right now!
[Well, at least he's getting a home cooked meal these days! Home cooked by ME that is...]
Gorgeous! Lovely! Keep going!
I'm so impressed Jane! Wow!
Oh God - another brown nemesis! Looks fantastic and I bet next winter will be a snuggly one :)
