SHOESday: Bet you thought you'd never see this...

So, I bet many of you thought you'd never see this on SHOESday.

I'm afraid that it's true: I have to confess that I spent a week in Melbourne (working, mainly) and the only shoes I bought were these:Yes, that's right, people - Ugg boots!

But red ones, so completely (oh, ok, moderately) acceptable!
(In my defence, I tried, I tried so valiantly, to buy shoes - I mean actual, proper, nice shoes, but there were none to be had. Well, not in my size and to my taste, anyway. Oh, and the ugg boots were part of my costume as Kimmoi at my friend Miss J's Australiana party (she went as Kath). But clearly I will continue to wear the uggs. Just only not out of the house!)

I think you have SO many incredibly stylish fashionable shoes that the ugg boots will drop into your shoe ocean without disturbing the status quo :)

They look lovely and warm!

I think its the magic age you reach where you realise your mum was right at least once and sensible warm things become apart of your wardrobe. I to fell folly of the ugg boots this year even going so far as to request some purple ones for mothers day. got em love em - but the only place they get worn out of the house is soccer practice and I stay in the car! Wear em enjoy em love em!

I giggled at this - what's wrong with Uggs anyway? Especially around the house ;). I love Kath and Kim - it's only on very late at night here, but I will stay up for it when I know it's on - genius!

Uggs are still very, very "in" here, with the young set and with moms who want to seem hip. (I don't own any myself because that would kill it for my daughter, I'm sure, and I torture her enough as it is.) But I've never seen red before - cool!

how on earth can they be hip, Rachel? I can't believe that!

I think you have excelled yourself RoseRed. Red uggies - stoilish. Very stoilish.

I dare you to go to the corner shop in them.

I must be so uncool, I wear my ugh boots all the time. Even when we have visitors. Comfort before appearance is my goal in life. I do have my jeans over the top - does that improve the look?

Anyhow yours are very very stylish ugh boots yah you.

I bet your toes are *toasty* in your stylin' red uggs, but I'm with you - strictly in-house wear!

sorry you couldn't find shoes in Melb though. I feel like my town has let you down :(

although we do tend to hide the good ones from "Northerners"....!

I think they are perfect for knitting comfort on wet cold windy days. I'd answer the door in them. :o)
