Like most if not all of the Sydney knitting/crafting community I attended the Craft Fair at Darling Harbour on Friday - a rushed visit in my lunch "hour". I practically ran around the joint, stopping at all the knitting stands, the craft book stand and one fabric stand (Patchwork on Central). But I still managed to get a nice load of goodies (in hindsight, it's probably lucky that I didn't have more time, because I surely would have bought more, much more - particularly fabric!) (Oh, and "knit from your stash" - ptooey!)
First purchase: Colinette Jitterbug in Velvet Damson and Velvet Olive
Followed swiftly by Kaalund in Wisteria and WineAnd more Kaalund - sadly, the two balls on the left are actually the same colour - just completely different!! But what a great name for a yarn colour - Bushfire! (the difference is due to my rushing and not taking the time to compare the yarn, so completely my fault!). On the right is Poinsettia.
No Belisa cashmere (although I did consider it for some time!!), but did buy another book and some needles (because I clearly need more patterns to tempt me to buy more yarn!)
Forgot to take a pic of the fabric, so will post an update tomorrow.
Oh, and no hob-nobbing with the rich and famous, unlike these two!!

I love those colours! They are so great. You're not wrong abuot the two different balls though - what an oversight.
I know already which story you're referring to and it's very, very cool.
I think I'm the only Sydney knitter that didn't get there. (sigh)
Wow, what a haul!! I can't believe they would put the same name on both those skeins. One doesn't have any white in it! You can knit a chevron scarf with it though. The poinsetta is really pretty. You're causing me to like red more than I used to!
Oooh, I like the yarns that you picked too! Love your jitterbug colours!
I made the decision not to go to the craft air, and until now I had no regrets. Damn it!!!! The yarn is great, I bought the Kaalund in wistria last year , it is very very noice!!
You got some great stuff there, I like the look of that book but am not sure I could wear anything from it if it is really undie-ish?!
What a great haul - all essential for your stash, of course :) I'm interested to hear what you think of the book - I haven't had a chance to see a copy yet, and like her patterns.
Woooo, what loot! I can't wait to see what you make with it.
ohhhh you did well! very well!!!! love the yarn....and you did that in your lunchbreak! it took me 3 hours to get through there!
Corrie:)
An excellent haul!
